about me
A supportive, evidence-based approach to assessment.
I have worked in education for more than 20 years, supporting children and young people across primary and secondary education. I began my career as a secondary mathematics teacher and later worked as a Specialist SEN Teacher and Head of Mathematics, before specialising in diagnostic assessment.
Today, I assess children and adults for dyslexia and dyscalculia, with a particular interest in understanding the individual pattern of strengths and difficulties behind someone’s experiences. My aim is to make assessment feel positive and supportive, while providing clear answers and practical recommendations.
As the parent of a dyslexic child, I also understand the process from a parent’s perspective, including how important it can be to feel listened to, understood and confident about what to do next.
I am a Professional Member of Patoss and hold a PG Level 7 Dip SpLD and a SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate (APC). I hold professional indemnity insurance and an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate.
