for adults & children (7+)
Price - £595

who can benefit from a dyslexia assessment?
A diagnostic dyslexia assessment may be helpful for:
-
Children who are experiencing persistent difficulties with reading, spelling or written work
-
Secondary school students who may require support or exam access arrangements
-
University students who require a diagnostic assessment to apply for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA)
-
Adults who would like to better understand their learning profile or explore support in the workplace
You will gain a clear understanding of strengths, challenges, and practical strategies to support learning and work.
WHAT DOES a dyslexia
ASSESSMENT INVOLVE?
A dyslexia assessment explores key areas of learning, including reading, spelling, writing, memory, processing speed, and phonological awareness.
Assessments typically last around two hours and take place in an informal, supportive environment, helping children to settle quickly and enjoy the range of activities.
Activities are flexible and can be adapted to suit each child, with opportunities for movement and breaks to help them stay comfortable and engaged.

WHERE DO dyslexia ASSESSMENTS TAKE PLACE?
Sessions are usually held at my home in Caversham, with parking onsite. Parents are welcome to remain in the assessment room, or come and go as needed.
A short break is built into the session. During this time, families are welcome to get some fresh air—many choose to visit a nearby café, with shops and cafés just a short stroll away.
Some families prefer a school-based assessment, where this can be arranged. For some children, being assessed in a familiar setting during the school day can feel more comfortable.
Online assessments are also available via Teams.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER
THE dyslexia ASSESSMENT?
You will receive a comprehensive written report within two weeks of the assessment, including:
-
assessment findings and diagnostic decision
-
detailed explanation of strengths and areas of difficulty
-
tailored recommendations for home, school/workplace
-
guidance regarding exam access arrangements or Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) where appropriate
Once you have had time to read the report, you are very welcome to arrange a complimentary feedback call. This provides an opportunity to discuss the findings, ask questions, and consider next steps, including advice on liaising with schools or other settings where appropriate.
