how a dyslexia assessment supports learning and confidence

A dyslexia assessment provides a thorough, in-depth analysis of cognitive skills - including working memory and processing speed - alongside reading, spelling, and writing abilities.

Whether you are a parent seeking clarity for your child, or an adult looking for answers in education or work, a dyslexia assessment can provide clear understanding and a practical way forward. The benefits of a dyslexia assessment include:

  • Personalised teaching/working strategies that lead to real improvement

  • Understanding of why certain tasks are challenging, so you or your child can overcome them

  • A clear profile of strengths and areas for development to guide next steps

  • Practical guidance and signposting to the right support pathways

  • Recommendations for exam access arrangements to unlock full potential

  • Evidence to support applications for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) at university

  • Improved confidence and self-esteem through insight and actionable strategies
