is an assessment right for you or your child?

You may be wondering whether an assessment would be helpful for you or your child.

People often get in touch because reading, spelling, writing or maths has always seemed harder than it should, or because difficulties are becoming more noticeable at school, university, work or in everyday life.

You do not need to know whether the difficulty is dyslexia, dyscalculia or something else before getting in touch.

An assessment can help to understand what is getting in the way, identify strengths and difficulties, and provide clear recommendations for support.

If you are unsure whether an assessment would be appropriate, you are very welcome to arrange a free 15-minute call to talk it through here.

what are the benefits of a dyslexia or dyscalculia assessment?

Difficulties with reading, spelling, writing or maths can affect much more than learning. An assessment can help explain why certain things feel harder, bringing clarity, confidence and a sense of being understood.

You’ll receive a detailed report with personalised recommendations. Assessments meet the requirements of schools, colleges, universities and Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA), and can provide evidence for reasonable adjustments in the workplace.

what are the benefits of a dyslexia or dyscalculia assessment?

Difficulties with reading, spelling, writing or maths can affect confidence, independence and everyday life as well as learning.

An assessment can help make sense of those difficulties by identifying the pattern behind them — what is working well, what is harder, and why.

You’ll receive a detailed report with clear, personalised recommendations, so you know what support is likely to help next.

For children and young people, this can help schools understand their needs and put appropriate support in place. For adults, it can provide useful evidence for university, Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) or reasonable adjustments in the workplace.

Most importantly, an assessment can replace uncertainty with a clearer understanding of the person’s learning profile.
